A good way to integrate a weather-resistant steel flower basin into your SLATE or bluestone patio is to create unpaved areas that take up slightly more space than a flower pot. The unpaved opening is filled with pea gravel and the drill is set directly on top of the gravel. This will allow the drill to drain properly and direct excess water into the soil. In addition, pea gravel acts as an attractive hedge, while keeping rust runoff away from the stones and preventing any possible staining of weathering steel.
From grey steel to a rich brown rust, the COR-10 steel basin is patina. Planters produce rust from rain and watering, which can contaminate concrete and other surfaces. To avoid rust on the concrete patio, place 10 planters on the edge of the unpaved patio. Adding black river stones and cobblestones around the planter will create a stylish silhouette and further accentuate the mild steel colour.
